Steve Harrington steps down as La Habra softball coach – Orange County Register

After two seasons at the helm of La Habra High’s softball program, Steve Harrington has stepped down as the school’s coach to pursue other opportunities at the club and collegiate levels.

“This was a very tough decision, especially with the number of kids I’ve been able to impact,” Harrington said Monday, June 12. “We’ve had a great deal of success and I’m grateful for the kids who have positively impacted my life.”

Harrington compiled a 50-10 record is his two years at La Habra. The Highlanders went 29-2 in 2016 and advanced to the CIF-Southern Section Division 2 semifinals.

After jumping to the Division 1 ranks this season, the Highlanders went 21-8 and briefly spent time atop the county rankings after a runner-up finish at the prestigious Dave Kops Tournament of Champions. Harrington led his team to consecutive wins over Pacifica, Orange Lutheran and Los Alamitos…
