Ajax’s 23-goal striker Kasper Dolberg “gives me a lot of inspiration” – Mikkel Duelund

Danish youngster Mikkel Duelund has cited fellow countryman Kasper Dolberg as “inspiration” after witnessing his rise at Ajax.

The 19-year-old midfielder is set to play a key role for Denmark at the U21 European Championships being held in Poland

With his own reputation growing the FC Midtjylland teenager has looked towards his compatriot Dolberg as how to go about turning promise into reality.

“I know Kasper very well having played with him from the U16 to U19 for Denmark, and I am so happy for him for his success with Ajax,” he told Goal.

“He has had an explosive development this season, and that gives me a lot of inspiration.”

Nominally a central midfielder, the Aarhus native has enjoyed a prolific campaign with boyhood club Midtjylland, registering 10 goals across 44 matches.
