A flat level of homebuying in Santa Ana in 2017’s first three months could not keep pace with a countywide sales advance.
How did the local residential real estate market start the year?
Using CoreLogic data, we compared homebuying patterns from January to March from this year and 2016. Here’s 12 things we learned:
1. Sales in Santa Ana were up a tiny amount: 431 residences sold in the past 12 months vs. 428 a year ago.
2. That’s a gain of 0.7 percent vs. a 3.5 percent increase countywide.
3. Neighborhood trends in Santa Ana, starting with ZIP code 92701 — 44 homes sold in the latest period vs. 50 one year ago. That’s a sales loss of 12 percent. Median selling price of $277,250 vs. $290,000 last year, a loss of 4.4 percent.
